Michigan Ethics CPE
Michigan CPAs are required to complete 2 hours of ethics CPE annually for a total of 4 hours every CPE reporting period. Course #4350, Ethics and Professional Conduct for Michigan CPAs, is the 2 hour course from PES and fulfills the Michigan ethics CPE requirement. PES also offers a 4 hour Michigan ethics course, #4355. The course covers the laws passed by the Legislature, the Board rules, and an explanation of the IRS requirements as outlined in Circular 230 and the Statements on Standards for Tax Services (SSTSs). The 2 hour ethics course is part of the 80 hours of continuing education the Michigan Board of Accountancy requires CPAs in this state to complete every 2 years (a minimum of 40 hours must be completed each year). Michigan CPAs must complete their CPE by June 30th of their renewal year.
